I am an IT professional living and working in the metro Washington DC area.
Prior to raising my children, I worked for 9 years in various roles, starting as a PL/1 programmer, progressing through programmer/analyst, project lead, and ultimately account operations manager. After several years home with the kids, I was ready to re-enter the IT field, but my skills were woefully out of date. I took some courses at the local community college, and used my new knowledge to create a website for my local Girl Scout organization. Creating the Girl Scout website from scratch taught me a lot about how to build (and how not to build) websites, and ultimately led to my first job offer back in the IT field.
My recent job experiences include web development (AJAX, XSLT), application administration, and software quality assurance.
